Does including them cause any problems? They actually do carry over and display OK on my non-synchronet system.

Nope, just cosmetic noise. Synchronet doesn't expand @-codes in messages unles
the message was posted by the local sysop, for security reasons.

I think what some people do is just post their welcome ANSI as an Ad.
