I had someone leave this message without a proper return email address.

"Just a heads up, when chicking on the red bar (Keyboard Input) on the home screen, it disconnects you from the system. I've tried it several times,
clicking on different parts of the bar and the result's the same."

I have no idea what this person is talking about. My BBS doesn't have this "red bar" for keyboard input. I'm guessing it's possibly a terminal program they're using? Does this sound familiar to anyone?

fTelnet has such a bar. Sounds like it's one big disconnect button, or there's a bug.

I was thinking maybe he was using the web interface but ...ah there it is. When you click on a differnet window.

Nope, seems to be working fine when I click it. Maybe it's a specific browser or OS that has the issue. It's a crap shoot since the user didn't leave any details.

if only you could open up the user editor and see his email address and email him about it. no, better to ask on a msg network about YOUR bbs.

Hey doofus, in his original post, he said the user had no legitimate
email address. Learn how to read.

I sometimes use ftelnet to access my DOS bbs. Normally, that red bar goes
away when you return to the browser window. I can only rememeber one time where it didn't and, as the caller suggests, it disconnected me when I
    clicked on it.

Since it happened to me on a non-Synchronet BBS, I suspect it is something
with the ftelnet code and not Synchronet or ecweb. I also wondered if it didn't mean, in that instance, that the BBS connection had been
disconnected from ftelnet which caused the red bar not to go away when I
    came back.
