    Hi,

Has anyone gotten GMail to work with Synchronet?.

I keep getting authentication erorrs, I have tried the relay option to relay it through my ISP mail. I have ticked the box Allow authentication via POP3, Telnet, ect under Mail in Sbbs control utility. I even ticked the box Allow authenticated users to relay mail. Should I send pigeons?.

I send email to @gmail.com recipients using my Synchronet mail sever all the time. Perhaps if you posted the actual error message(s), we could help you.

I think you have to use TLS with port 587.

I remember doing that too but never had a problem. Maybe it's a port issue, perhaps?

Yeah, I know, and I am greatful. I have opened all the ports mentioned on the wiki (IPV4/6). Tried it with win10 and router firewall off. Still get this:

Did you read my earlier response to you? It appears your ISP is blocking outbound connectinos to TCP port 25. This is covered in the FAQ I pointed you to: http://wiki.synchro.net/faq:tcpip#send_mail

If your ISP is blocking connections to TCP port 25, there's really nothing you can do but call them and ask them to stop it. Or you can relay your sent mail through another system. This is all covered in the FAQ.

Are you trying to relay through gmail? Could you provide more

    you are trying to do?

Give specific steps that repeat what you are doing.

The :9090 at the end is probably your issue... your mail server should
be able to receive mail on port 25, which is the standard SMTP port...
IIRC, you can relay inbound and outbound mail via VERT, which is likely
your best option, but you'd have to use pointofnoreturn.synchro.net as
    your mail address.

It's fully working now after I used my ISP to relay rather then my web based email. Thanks for the help.

was bascally trying to use GMail to send / receive user messages, to and
from the bbs. I ended up using my ISP, they allow it so long as it's
    send with their ip.
