i've been a guitar hero/rock band junkie since getting a guitar for the Wii versions back in 2009 or so, now i have a full band set with 2 guitars,
drums and microphone all set up to play with YARG on a tv-plugged PC... the only problem is gathering enough people to play together!

anyone else into plastic guitar or other types of rhythm games?

    To which Darklord replies...

I used to play with my son and daughter when they were younger. My son,
now 33, still has one or the other of "Guitar Hero/Rock Band", but I
    can't remember which.

We have that same problem. My daughter is away at college/university
so she's not available to play with us anymore and no one else seems to
    be interested.

Maybe offer free beer and pizza at each session? :)

I got into DDR when I was younger. I even have a metal dance pad that I can connect to my PS2 or PC. DDR -now there's something you don't see nowadays.

Both my sons enjoy them, as well as a couple brothers and one of my
nephews. My problem is I don't know a lot of the songs - LOL - but
when they do an 'oldie' I'll jump in. :-)

Oh man, I used to love playing /Guitar Hero/ and /Rock Band/ on my VII gen. consoles... it's been a while, though. Nowadays, I mainly play /StepMania/ on my PC with keyboard controls, mainly^2 in the /DDR/ mode. I also go to my local arcade every great once in a while because they have a bunch of rhythm games (/Taiko/, /GitaDora/, /MUSECA/, /jubeat/, /IIDX/, a few others I can't remember the names of).

I'm still bummed that I missed out on the age of hard pads. Now, with my weight and with my legs being messed up, I think the age of playing on pad at all is beyond me. :(

I still have my PS2 with a few versions of Guitar Hero (GH II, III and Rock The 80's) and 2 third party guitars. Also, GH Metallica and World Tour on
the Wii with the official guitar. I thought these games were awesome at the time and offered that extra bit of interactivity, even though some of the
songs were insanely hard to play. .

It's all just hiding in the back of the cupboard now but I definitely won't
be selling/binning any of it because it will make an appearance one day.

    Nostalgia rules! :)
