• test required?

From Spectre@21:3/101 to All on Sun Jul 21 20:34:00 2024
    Hey there,

I need an irregular test... I've run into some weird network issues. I need
a test of connection to tlp.zapto.org on port 6502. Used to be able to
resolve the name and use it locally, but that seems to have come to a
    screaming halt.

The individual parts seem to work, but I can't test external access..

    Thanks in advance,
    Spec

How would one go on to try to connect to that? I'm currently connecting to a BBS where I get the network messages with PuTTY. Would that do teh job for the test? What kind of info you want reported back to you?
Glad to be of any help.

Normally, a telnet client has a place to enter a port number, and you'd just put 6502 in there. I know PuTTY does.

Ta. I'm not sure what happened. I used to be able to resolve the external IP and the "router" would just see it as an internal address and forward it back in. Seems to have stopped working that way for some reason... good to know
the outside is working as expected.

Yes, I had to use that to connect to the BBS I'm currently on. Putty defaulted a Telnet connection to port 23 and this BBS is configured to receive connections through port 2323, so I had to set that myself.
Also, I see the matter was addressed promptly by other members and the inquiry was resolved.
I'd be glad to help in any further needed tests or whatever.
    Cheers!
