• Auto created msg base?

    So I found 2 new message bases added to my BBS this morning. Not sure how this happened; at first I thought I had been hacked!! But here is the mutil log showing the creation of one of them.

    What the f....? Why did mutil auto create a message base? How do I turn this off?

    Ok, sorry, figured it out. Apparently Mystic has an auto_create setting in mutil.ini. And here I was going through my logs looking for an unauthorized login. XD

    ... They say there's always one weirdo on the bus, but I couldn't find them!

    Your MUTIL.INI (or whatever INI you are running for message import) should have a config option in the ImportEchoMail section called auto_create. Its default value is true. So if it doesn't exist or is commented out, be sure to uncomment it and set it to false.

    I've just been going through the Mystic youtube videos on how to set up a BBS and get FSXNET configured, which covered this information. In the ini file, set this in the ini file for the ImportEchoMail section:

    auto_create = false

    ... Everyone smiles in the same language.
