• DNSLookup failing...

From Shurato@21:4/141 to All on Wed Nov 15 22:45:04 2023
    If I do nslookup -q=TXT f148.n2.z21.fsxnet.nz I get:

    C:\Users\Owner>nslookup -q=TXT f148.n2.z21.fsxnet.nz
    Server: modem.Home
    Address: 192.168.0.1

    *** modem.Home can't find f148.n2.z21.fsxnet.nz: Server failed

    If I do nslookup -q=TXT fsznet.nz, I get:

    C:\Users\Owner>nslookup -q=TXT fsxnet.nz
    Server: modem.Home
    Address: 192.168.0.1

    Non-authoritative answer:
    fsxnet.nz text =

    "v=spf1 +a +mx +ip4:120.138.23.10 +include:_spf.webslice.co.nz +include:_spf.sitehost.co.nz ~all"
    fsxnet.nz text =

    "google-site-verification=x2hWvbVZiAstgRyUNopBY6fu8p5aOvqKbsazNbQlRhc" fsxnet.nz text =

"This DDN generated using nodelist2dns v.1.16 - A perl script to generate DNS distributed Nodelist zone file from the fsxNet nodelist"

I'm getting name resolution, but not for anything past fsxnet.nz. I've tried posted working examples, and they fail as well. I tried ipconfig /flushdns and that didn't help any.

Try Manually changing the DNS servers to Googles. 8.8.8.8 See what happens after that.

I think the CNAME issue I posted about will have to be resolved before this service is going to be supported across all DNS servers.

I understand, but that's a solution to the underlying problem.
