Just wanted to kick off a thread about favorite 80's bands, artists, songs.

I'm a fan of the synth pop bands from that period. Erasure, Ultravox etc.

    What do you like?

My oh my I could go on forever. Let's start with: Gary Numan, Thomas Dolby (A brilliant guy besides a good musician) Devo, Kraftwerk, New Order, Depeche Mode, OMD, The Human League, Pet Shop Boys, Soft Cell, Joy Division, Thompson Twins, Heaven 17, Yello, Art of Noise, ABC, Flock of Seagulls....
And of course from New Zealand Split Enz.

... My reality check just bounced

You can keep erasure :P I did enjoy Ultravox, The Church were also pretty nifty, "Under the MilkyWay". We had a raft of pub rock bands that were still kicking at that stage.... The Angels, Hunters and Collectors, Noiseworks all come to mind. PLus a few strange really local offerings like "The Melody Lords"

    HEAVY METAL ALL THE WAY!

Yeah, the 80s must have been the best decade for Metal. Manowar best band ever.

All men play on 10... chuckle, I see your Manowar and raise you a Twisted Sister. :P

    Howdy,

Did your little batch file hack break, or did you get the delorean fixed?

Your posting UTC again with messages coming from the future :)

Shrug, more likely system time is a tad wonky. If the TZ is still there it ought to be correct although it might be on AEDT rather than AEST... I did
have to do some jiggery pokery with it when I beat The Reader into doing JAM instead of just using the HUDSON base. Will have a look, I probably have multiples of that batch file kicking around too... it took some voodoo to try and make it work on one bat from different software...

No idea... there's a slim possibility its a fault in the file system. I have NFS running in ASYNC for speed, but it means that writes are not confirmed. Meaning it could be the next file operation begins before the last write is finished, perhaps truncating the TZUTC line...

This seems unlikely though, as I can see the TZ line appear in other
messages, or its hit and miss. I'll have to find some JAM utils that function in hmm WIN7 and have a look at the message bases themselves to get any
    further details.
