    Boggle, what exactly would you do with it? I guess you'd have to be homebrewing something. I can't imagine you'd drop it into your 6502 socket
    and hope for instant overclock, the antique would never keep up with it..

    The details are in the linked article. It works in the Apple II, Commodore PET and they use it in old chess computers too. Speed bump is only internal, communication with the antique is slowed down.

    I didn't actually look at the article.. and I'll usually jump on anything 6502ish.. anyhoo.. that makes it sound a bit like the old accelerator cards
    for the Apple II at least anyways. They used to be system on a card, although this would be system on a chip. Actual useful system speed could vary
    wildly. It could usurp the system by asserting the DMA or interrupt line not sure which now, at which time it could run full boar, but access to the
    system BUS required a return to 1Mhz as did video refresh. So there's kind
    of a diminishing return the faster you go.

    Turns out the thing sucks your system memory/ROM into on chip memory which is 64k. This sounds fine but will only work on an Apple II I think we 48k or less. As the device has no idea about memory mapping schemes. Off hand the upper 16k in a II/II+ is bank switched.

    So its only going to be of any value in low memory, flat memory model
    systems. Like the original IIs no point putting this in a IIe. And your PET not sure what else is out there.. apparently some early chess systems also.
