  • Aurora Borealis photos, Vancouver Island, BC, Canada

    The current solar activity made the aurora borealis visible in areas further south than usual, this includes southern Vancouver Island, BC, Canada.

    There were a couple other groups of people in the park where I was observing and photographing the lights. Around 10:30pm the aurora became so brilliant, there was an audible "WHOA" from the crowd in the park. A pretty great experience.

    Thanks for posting, we were socked in here in NY for the entire weekend. It was like there was some insult intended as it would clear and be sunny during the day and then roll in each night and rain on us!
