    Sean,

Rumors of my demise are untrue. :D

Oh, mergatroyd!! Look what crawled out of the woodwork. <G>

I am still alive. I'll post a longer message tomorrow.

Same here. I was involved in a multi-vehicle wreck a week ago.
My 2004 Buick LeSabre was totaled, even though the airbags did
not deploy in my vehicle...but they did in the other vehicles.

I got rear ended by a pickup truck hauling a trailer, causing
me to spin across traffic, and hit by another car...which hit
the pickup truck that hit me, head on...and they both took out
a power pole. The roads were wet, and there was light rain at
    the time.

I got more money than expected from Allstate (my company), and
am waiting on a settlement from Geico (the company of the driver
charged in the wreck). So, in needing to get basic transportation
back, I found a 2009 Volvo 2 door convertible at a good price
(most were way more than that, even pre-owned). All I want is
something to get me from point A to point B in the Little Rock
    area.

I am getting chiropractic care for several weeks for apparent
neck and back injuries...although they seem minor by comparison.
I basically was able to "walk away" from the wreck...my first one
    in 43 years.

However, with all the mess in the aftermath of the wreck, I've
had little time for BBSing, except for updating the ham radio
and weather data...and doing QWK Mail. My Social Media (Facebook)
has been limited to the ham radio traffic nets that have groups,
in using these for net checkins (and I'm also using Netlogger).

It is a good thing you walked away with just some bruises.

We had a patient in our clinit that had spent years being fucked up by some condition of his. We managed to improve it to the
point he could carry out a normal life and all. He was happy as heck.

One day after finishign treatment he came to the clinic to sign some papers, walked out and got involved in an accident. Now he
    is in a wheelchair.

    Talk about bad luck.

Well, I didn't see any bruises, per se...but apparently, I've got some
neck, back, and tailbone injuries, that I wasn't aware of at the time of
the wreck. I'm getting chiropractic care during the week through next
week, then it'll go to 3 days a week for at least 3 weeks. Then, they
will decide the plan of care from that point.

I haven't been quite the same after my COVID-19 illness. I've been having headaches and tinnitus. No one at the VA seems to know what to do since they can't just toss pills at me due to my blood clot and blood thinners.

So I am just waiting for now. I am trying to get the energy to do things around the house. I did move my IC-718 into the motorhome and have set up the Signalink USB you gifted me and a new CI-V control cable (arrived yesterday). Digital modes are so far, so good. I'm using my Windows laptop since my other laptop died but this one isn't doing much better, I'm afraid.

    Bob,

Thats great man! I'm glad you'll be able to get a replacement car. It sucks not having transportation.

Nowadays, you have to have transportation to get around. It's not like
years ago, in a small country town, where you could walk, or ride a bike everywhere. And, that reminds me of a joke. :)

Two preachers of different churches of this small country town were having lunch, and one was depressed. He was afraid there was a thief in his church,
as the bicycle he used to get around town, had been stolen...and he didn't
    know what to do.

His fellow pastor told him to "preach a sermon on The 10 Commandments".
He added "When you get to 'Thou Shalt Not Steal', the spirit of conviction
will fall so heavily on the perpetrator, that they'll confess to the crime,
and you'll have your bike back".

Well, the next week, the 2 met again for lunch, and the one who did what
his fellow pastor had advised lamented "it didn't go quite like he had planned". He said "I never made it to 'Thou Shalt Not Steal'. When I got
to 'Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery', I remembered where I had left the bicycle!!" <BG>.

There was another case where this preacher thought someone in his congregration had said he was a member of the Ku Klux Klan. He said
"I demand that the person who committed this egregious sin, confess
and repent before the congregation". After several minutes, this
petit blonde female stood up, with tears in her eyes, and said
"Preacher, I never said you were a member of the Ku Klux Klan. I said
'You were a great master under the sheets!!".

The preacher fell to his knees, his wife fainted, and the entire
church erupted in raucous laughter. <BG>

If you can't laugh at either of these, as the late Jerry Clower noted,
"You need to look in the mirror, and see what everyone else has been
    laughing at all these years".

I'm glad you weren't hurt any worse. I'm also glad that you were able
to find a droptop for a new car. :D

Well, I'm going to keep the top closed. We had rain much of yesterday,
and are supposed to get thunderstorms Sunday and Monday.

I am still waiting on Social Security. I'm hoping that with the
backpay from that I will be able to find something decent around here
for a vehicle. I'll definitely be getting a used vehicle though if
it's going to be a 4-door sedan or a small 4WD pickup will be up to the luck of the draw.

That Volvo 2 door hardtop convertible was the cheapest I could find in
the area. From what I understand, Volvo's are good quality cars. It does
cost a bit for repairs, but those apparently are few and far between.

As for Social Security, I was denied disability twice, then my late wife Janice and I (who you got to meet years ago), hired a lawyer. We went
before an administrative law judge...then every day for 5 months, we were praying (dare I say "pleading"??) before The Lord for a favorable ruling.
Seven months before she died, that's what I got...and the first words out
of my mouth, upon learning of such, were "Praise The Lord Of All Creation". Yet, they keep finding stuff wrong with me.

As for the wreck, if you see someone grab their neck in a wreck, they
are faking it. Injuries from those don't show up until a few days later,
as your adrenaline is in overdrive for at least 2 days after the wreck. I
am undergoing daily chiropractic care, and the doctor will decide on Monday whether I can cut that back to 3 days a week.

At least the claim for the totaled out car came in, so I can now go and
get the tags for it, and pay the property tax on it.

I haven't been quite the same after my COVID-19 illness. I've been
having headaches and tinnitus. No one at the VA seems to know what to
do since they can't just toss pills at me due to my blood clot and
    blood thinners.

I'm not on any blood thinners, but I tend to bleed like a stuck pig. I
also get cysts all over the place. Years ago, I had a rather large benign
one on the left butt cheek, that had to be removed surgically. It had to
heal from the inside out as it was so deep, so I required home health care
for 6 weeks. My late mother-in-law quipped "you get to show your butt, and
    have it rubbed". <G>

So I am just waiting for now. I am trying to get the energy to do
things around the house. I did move my IC-718 into the motorhome and

I've had 2 BSOD errors with Windows 10, but thankfully, those have been
    few and far between.

I have a lawyer already just in case. They normally do not take new claims but the lawyer felt I had an "open and shut case" (her words). So I might lose $6000 for nothing but better safe than sorry!

I didn't find out I had a concussion until eight months later and it took years before my right hip started giving me problems. All after the statue of limitations ran out, of course. Now with the problems with walking caused by my Charcot foot, that right hip is always angry.

My 82-year old mother had a flare-up of sciatica, exacerbated by a long plane trip. I had to take her to an urgent care facility, and while on the freeway was rear-ended in a low-speed accident (it was stop-and-go traffic). We pulled over, and my mother and I got out of the car. She was hunched over and in obvious pain, and I thought the woman who hit us was going to have a heart attack when she saw her getting out of the car!

My left hip is giving me fits, but I've got arthritis throughout my body.
I was told "you're going to need neck, shoulder, hip, and knee surgery", and
I said "you might as well cut something else off -- yet, the wings have been clipped". :P

That reminds me of a chat in the "CB Simulator" on a BBS at the local
college 35 years ago. My late wife, Janice, myself, and 2 other individuals (one a current ham radio operator, and his girlfriend who wasn't a ham at
the time, but she is now), were going to meet for lunch at his house. The conversation got around to what we were going to eat and drink, and it went like this:

Daryl: Poison my tea, will you??
Robert: Well, I hadn't thought about it, but...
Daryl: Don't you dare!! I'll have your wings clipped!!
Robert: I've already had that done.
    Daryl: Oh, *THOSE* Wings!!
    Janice: Oh, no!! <G>

Robert was in the Air Force. His girlfriend, back then, was very attractive. She (like most of us) has put on a lot of weight over the years). As a VE,

I'll bet. My late father had a lot of sciatica...and I may be dealing
with it as well. They diagnosed me with degenerative disk disease back
    in 2017 via a CT Scan. Last week at the chiropractor, I was 52% recovered;
and up to 61% this past Monday. But, the goal is 90%, so I have a ways to
    go yet.

Combine the arthritis with all this mess, I'm taking a 400 milligram Ibuprofen before bedtime every night...and using a walker everywhere I go.
