    Our basement is where kitchen gadgets go to die. One of these days we'll get around to cleaning it out.     I guess they all seemed like good ideas at the time, but we're just never going to work them into regular rotation.

    Here's something I would definitely make for breakfast. My mom grows her own asparagus.

    I would make that too! I only really eat asparagus when it's fresh and
    local. Sometimes Andrea will buy some from the big box store but it's
    just not the same.

    I love asparagus when it's in season, but the stalks have to be pretty thin. Some local stuff I bought last year were so thick and stringy that it was a chore to chew. I felt more like a cow just sitting there at the table chewing & chewing & chewing...

    The other half likes to BBQ asparagus using a makeshift tray made of tin foil.

    You coat the asparagus in olive oil & salt. Once they're soft and almost ready you move the tips just off the foil tray & carefully add a nice char.

    The char adds a nice nuttiness & when combined with the olive oil & salt is absolutely delicious.

    The ones that are in the storage closet here that I use on occasion are
    the juice maker, the ice cream maker. Under the table in the kitchen
    are a couple Kureg's and a couple espresso machines. In the dining
    room is a wire rack that holds the ones I use, crock pot, instant pot,
    food processor, stand mixer, bread machine, etc etc etc. The table
    in the dining room doubles as my work space for the computer and as a
    counter for pasta / bread making as my kitchen is too small to do anything
    in.

    If I had a basment.... but see above I'm full up and out of space. :)

    Sounds good. I've done it that way but now on the BBQ just oil, salt
    and right on the grill for a char then on the plate. Still nice and
    crunchy.
